Files that cannot be converted, honestly listed
DRM-protected files and password-locked files cannot be converted here, and neither can scanned PDFs without OCR or proprietary project files that need their original app.
Open the Video Converter — free →DRM is encryption designed to control where and how media can be played. The converter cannot decrypt it, and it will not accept files that require a license or account key. Password-locked PDFs are similar: without the correct password, the pages cannot be read or exported. If you own the file and know the password, unlock it in a PDF reader first, save an unlocked copy, and then convert that copy.
Scanned PDFs usually contain pictures of text, not selectable text. This converter does not include OCR, so it cannot turn those page images into an editable document. You can convert the PDF to images, or run OCR in a separate tool before converting. A PDF that already has selectable text can be converted normally.
Proprietary project files such as PSD documents with live layers or CAD drawings store structure, layer data, and editing information that common output formats cannot preserve. Converting them directly would either fail or flatten away the parts that make them useful. Open the file in its original application and export a flattened copy, such as PNG, JPEG, PDF, or a standard video file, then convert that export.
1) Check whether the file opens without a password. 2) Check whether PDF text can be selected. 3) If it is a project file, export a flat copy from the original app. 4) Upload the unlocked, flattened, or text-based file to the converter. If the file is DRM-protected or you do not have the password, stop: this converter cannot process it.
